Committee Assignments

Military Affairs Committee
Chair ~ Karl Kramer (McCarthy Toyota of Sedalia)
Extends a neighborhood concept to Whiteman Air Force Base and promotes Sedalia to newly stationed personnel, through the program “Right Start.” Military Affairs Committee distributes Sedalia information to military personnel, hosts the Whiteman Memorial Wreath Ceremony, and supports Whiteman Air Force Base activities. These may include the Air Show, Tops in Blue performance,  Quarterly and Annual Awards, and Base Community Council function. MAC meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month except in August at Colton’s Steakhouse. The meeting starts at noon, please contact Karl Kramer for more information at kkramer@mccarthyautogroup.com.

Ambassadors
Chair ~ Cathy Schlup (JobFinders)
Service the goodwill arm of the Chamber. Our ambassadors host the Annual Awards Banquet, do an annual member visitation, have monthly meetings, recruit new ambassadors and encourage growth in the Chamber activities. They are instrumental in our ribbon cutting ceremonies to help introduce new businesses. They also assist with the monthly Chamber breakfast, Business After Hours, and fundraisers.

Chamber Golf ~
Chair ~ Debra Andresen (Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce)
In 2019 it will be our 27h Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament. Our committee works hard to plan this great event. It gives our Chamber members a chance to showcase their business with a Chamber Golf Sponsorship.

 2019 Piccadilly Gala “Fabulous 50’s”

9th Annual Sedalia Chamber Piccadilly Gala. This is a fun and fabulous lady’s night out and auction benefit for Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce. It features dinner, a silent auction, and the one-of-a-kind Piccadilly Auction and much more.


Sedalia Chamber Biz, Sips, & Bites

Sedalia Chamber Biz, Sips & Bites is an easy, affordable way to give your company maximum exposure in front of hundreds of people, as well as learn what goods and services are available for your business.


Christmas Parade

For over 50 years, the Christmas Parade held in Downtown Sedalia has drawn hundreds of people to the community to kick off the holiday shopping season. This year the Sedalia Chamber Christmas parade is going to be held on Friday, Dec. 6th @ 7:30 p.m.


Sedalia Young Professionals

The Sedalia Young Professionals is a group to bring young career-minded people together to promote community service, social engagement and professional development in the Sedalia area.
SYP provides a forum for young, like-minded professionals in the Sedalia area for networking, civic engagement and community service. Our greater goal is to empower young leaders and have a positive impact on the place we call home. We will:

  • Foster relationships between like-minded young people.
  • Empower the next generation of Sedalia area leaders.
  • Increase awareness and create visibility for issues pertinent to young professionals in the Sedalia area.

Membership is comprised of young professionals between the age of 21 and 40 who either pay yearly dues or are employed by a company that is a member of the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce. Members participate in monthly meetings and quarterly social, community involvement and professional development events.
